Collioure

A selection of photos from around Collioure on the East coast of the Pyrenees, taking in the Tour Maledoc:

Vinyards below the Ermitage.

The Shrine of Ste-Anne.

The old hermitage of Notre-Dame -de-Consolation.

A well earned rest in the shade!

Looking towards Perpignon on the left and Collioure to the right. That's the Mediterranean Sea in the distance stretching towards Narbonne.

The Misty Mountains

Some more shots from the Pyrenees trip - this time focussing on the mistier days.

We came across this really remote farm way up in the mountains. At first we didn't even notice the pigs as they were so well blended in to the landscape, then all of a sudden they started grunting as we awoke them with our chating. An amusing moment!

This was up at Pont d'Espagne very near the border between France and Spain.

If you click on it to enlarge the photo you can see someone's written 2h.15! Must be a slow walker!

The mist just descended until you couldn't see more than about 10 metres in front of you. I just hit up the bar at this lake instead!

A hunting kestrel.

High up and looking back down from where I've come.

A mountain refuge.

A Day Out at Abbey Road and Primrose Hill

Went for a walk up at Primrose Hill and then on to Abbey Road last Saturday - here're some shots of the day.

Looking towards Primrose Hill.

On top of the hill looking towards central London.

Once home to victorian chef and inventor Alexia Soyer who is famous for helping alleviate the suffering of the Irish poor in the Great Irish Famine (1845-1849). See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexis_Soyer

Once home to Friedrich Engels (28 November 1820 – 5 August 1895) a German social scientist, author, political theorist, philosopher, and father of communist theory, alongside Karl Marx. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Engels

The well grafittied wall outside Abbey Road studios.

Some tourists reenact the cover of The Beatles - Abbey Road album. Slightly cheesy!
